I should explain at ht outset that my criticism of India spring from a deep reserviour of love for the country.....
it distress me when i see india not performing to its potential... India's explosive economic growth is a common knowledge for all

the biggest problem appears in India is to be people's contentment while living in the midst of the squalor. it doesn't take much effort to clean up a neighborhood but an unsettling trait was people's tendency to settle for mediourity .  in outwardly nice office building and homes i would find frayed interiors and messy bathroom facilities , which is in urgent need of repair and clean up. even it is big challenge for us but those who work or lived they were apparently quite happy with the way things were happen.....
such kind of tasks should be rightly undertaken by panchayats  in the countryside and the city urban areas..

BUT, my recent visit to udaipur , show  me that udaipur is relatively a clean city . the people's living in udaipur organised voluntary work to clean up whole area even the king of udaipur also contribute  allot , shaming the city government into action.

the city of "punjabis" CHANDIGARH where punjab university is located, was once the crown jewel among all Indian cities.  it was first planned city of india .it  was full of broad boulevards , lovely white buildings , and beautiful lawns . alas, they are no more.

The private companies did a great job building the highways. the government is already letting them go to seed. the modern airport are world class ; the new international airport in Delhi is a marvel , a thing of beauty built by private enterprise on budget and ahead of schedule.

In India, unfortunately politicians are weak-kneed to provide real leadership. i never heard a single-voice railing against the entrepreneurs , corporations but i am sure we all heard universal condemnation of the government and the "corrupt politicians".

private enterprise is the silver lining of india currently fueling india's economic growth..although progress can be painfully slow :-(((

HOW DO U CHANGE PEOPLE'S ATTITUDE????
""through the spread of education or by rising incomes""
